IdeaXFactory presents the SGF Chalk Arts Festival outside and Open Studios II inside for the June 1 First Friday Art Walk.

Get an early start with fun for all ages at the SGF Chalk Arts Festival 10 a.m.-10 p.m. June 1. Hosted by ideaXfactory to benefit Foster Adopt Connect of SWMo, featured artists will begin drawing at 10 a.m. on the MSU Brick City parking lot behind the ideaXfactory. The public is invited to find a spot and join our drawing community. The event is free, all ages are welcome, and we will provide the chalk!

Live music starts at 2 p.m. with Melinda Mullins, Jon Livingston, Molly Daniels, and local musicians on the outdoor patio. Join hands-on fun with Art Zone, Professor Powers Science Symposium and Queen City Rock Camp. Holy Cow Food Truck will be there all day offering delicious Indian cuisine to fuel your creativity, and the new Bits of Britain Cafe’ is just around the corner with a menu of coffee, tea, and pasties.

Open Studios II, held 5-10 p.m. inside the ideaXfactory, features artists working in a variety of media – sculpture, painting, photography, fiber, and mixed media. You’ll see finished artworks alongside new work in progress by David Cogorno, Doug Erb, Lura Faye, Sarah Jones, Josee McGregor, Dana Neuenschwander, Erin O’Sullivan, Christie Snelson, and Jesse Tyler
